Pete Wentz finds it "odd and slightly amusing" that his band, Fall Out Boy, is issuing a greatest hits collection.
After all, it's been only four years since the Illinois-based foursome released their major-label debut, the multi-million-selling From Under The Cork Tree, and since that time they've put out just three other albums.
"Greatest hits records are a funny thing," Wentz says. "I always think of them as being from bands with loads of huge songs. Fall Out Boy, we're kind of a different group."
Indeed, the appearance of a greatest hits set (the official title is Believers Never Die - Greatest Hits) is fanning the flames on Fall Out Boy fan sites with rumors that the band (which also includes singer-songwriter and guitarist Patrick Stump, guitarist Joe Trohman and drummer Andy Hurley) might be pondering a breakup or a split from their label.

| Keira Knightley post |
[08 Nov 2009|06:50pm] |
Joe Wright will NOT direct Keira in 'My Fair Lady'
When we reported earlier this week that Keira Knightley would star in a Joe Wright-directed remake of My Fair Lady, we were already getting conflicting reports that neither Knightley nor Wright had a thing to do with the movie.
Now we have confirmation from one participant, at least. Screenrush caught up with Wright on the red carpet at the London Film Festival, and he assured them that the reports of him directing My Fair Lady are “all a lie.”
Interestingly, he couldn’t say much about Knightley’s participation– “Keira might well do it”– which probably mean the years-old reports about Knightley being in the film are still valid. Below you can see Wright’s rebuttal for yourself, including what seems to be utter bewilderment that anyone would make up this story to begin with.

Keira buying an Italian villa? Keira Knightley could be buying a home in Italy....The actress is interested in buying a Tuscany villa.
Knightley was spotted in Tuscany over the summer, according to The Sunday Times. The Pirates of the Caribbean star is now believed to be looking at Italy villas.
A source told the paper that Knightley is particularly interested in properties in Tuscany. Her "hunting ground" centres on Barga in the Garfagnana valley.
If she buys a villa in Italy, Knightley will add to her property portfolio. The 24 year old also took her pick of the London apartments and owns a £1.5m flat in Mayfair.

| Dashboard Confessional Loves ONTD! |
[08 Nov 2009|06:42pm] |
Last night Dashboard Confessional played their last show for a while in Louisville, KY with the Louisville Orchestra. It was actually pretty good, and I managed to walk back stage and right up to the band to ask for a pic. I told him about ONTD and that he has a pretty good amount of fans here, and he was happy to hold the sign. Woohoo!

| a message from my bb alec |
[08 Nov 2009|06:37pm] |
When I got the phone call asking me to co-host the Oscars with Steve Martin, I was shocked.
I have always enjoyed the ceremony where many of the film community's most talented and influential members come together to honor achievement in film. Among the greatest moments for me were presenting John Barry his Oscar for the score of DANCES WITH WOLVES, to present a clip from one of my favorite films, THE REMAINS OF THE DAY and to watch my then wife win Best Supporting Actress for LA CONFIDENTIAL. The Oscars. Inarguably, the most important awards in the entertainment industry.
Now, it looks like I am going to co-host this thing with someone I deeply admire and who I am certain will carry me on his back throughout, having previously hosted himself two times.
The Oscars. March 7, 2010. Hosted by Steve Martin and that guy from 30 Rock. I hope you'll enjoy.

| Gyllenhaal in thriller Source Code |
[09 Nov 2009|01:05am] |

Philippe Rousselet’s Vendome Pictures has announced its first project, teaming with Mark Gordon on the sci-fi thriller Source Code starring Jake Gyllenhaal. Summit International has already pre-sold rights to more than 15 territories at AFM.
Duncan Jones, fresh from his critically acclaimed low budget sci-fi Moon, will direct the story of a US soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown commuter and is forced to live and relive a train bombing until he can find the perpetrator. Ben Ripley wrote the screenplay with revisions from Billy Ray.
“Jake and I have been trying to find a project together since we worked on The Day After Tomorrow,” Gordon said. “He’s a wonderful actor and perfect for this role in Source Code.”
Gyllenhaal is currently filming Love And Other Drugs for Ed Zwick. He will next be seen in Jim Sheridan’s Brothers and the upcoming Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time.
Jones is currently writing the screenplay of the upcoming film Mute, which he will also direct.

| Overlay Effect? |
[08 Nov 2009|02:14pm] |
Hi, I was wondering if I could get an overlay effect like this header: http://www.fanning-love.org/ For instance, how did they do the blue stripes as well as the "shadow" of Elle behind the main image? And what about the blurry white fade out at the bottom? I use GIMP 2.6.7. Thank you. :)

| Taylor Lautner Plays Coy on Romance With Taylor Swift |
[08 Nov 2009|02:43pm] |
Taylor Lautner isn't too upset with all the rumors circulating that he and Taylor Swift are dating.
"The very funny thing is that all of you have seen every single move I make, so I guess I can leave that up to you to decide," he said to reporters at the New Moon press conference in Beverly Hills on Friday.
Still, he said he's a bit uncomfortable at the idea of her writing a song about him.
"That's a scary thing," he said. "I don't know if she has. I have no idea."
Lautner isn't alone in keeping his status with Swift a secret.
Asked whether they are an item, the singer, 19, told CMT Radio's Cody Alan, "I don't know."
In the interview, which aired Thursday, she continued: "He's an amazing guy and we're really close...and ah....yep.....and we're in a movie together and I am really excited about seeing it."
The two -- who attended a hockey game together in L.A. and had dinner with Swift's mom two weeks ago -- appear in the ensemble romantic comedy, Valentine's Day, out next year.
"That movie was a lot of fun," Lautner said at the conference for New Moon, which hits theaters Nov. 20. "Taylor was great... so I'm excited to go and see that."
